Cycle Tech 4 Years Old

Cycle Tech Established April 1st 2008
The last 4 years has been a great experience building the business, meeting a lot of great people, with the mobile service visiting customers at their home. Also seen a huge growth of cyclist since 2008, with a increase in road bikes. The Saturday Cycle Clinic has been a great hit, helping customers who only have time to get their bike fixed or serviced on a Saturday. I have also been busy with Cycle Tech UK, there is now 19 new members across the UK under the Cycle Tech UK logo.

The reason Jackie from Watford took the beginners course, was mainly she is competing in an ironman race next month and she needed the confidence to repair her bike in case she got any problems, plus how to box it up to travel with it. She was recommended this course from a friend of hers (who is a triathlete too)

The Mobile Bicycle Workshop That Comes to you

No need to make time to drop your bike at the local bike shop (and pick it up again) Cycle Tech can service and repair your bike, from our mobile workshop at your home or place of work.

Saving you time and money.
Not having to drive to the bike shop wait for your bike to be fixed and drive back again.

Don't have time to take your bike(s) to the bike shop.
The growing number of cyclists, which includes a growing number of women cyclists, are more likely to use a mobile mechanic than visit a cycle shop. Even if they don't cycle them-self, they don't have the time to take the family bikes to the shop! Women are happy to ask cycling related questions to the mobile mechanic.

Which include; where is a good place to cycle with children, what is a good bike/type to buy, saddle height/fit and maintenance questions. All of the advice can be given at the comfort of the customer,s home at a time to suit.

The government are looking for ways to reduce congestion in the city's, rising fuel prices with the bicycle being one of the least-expensive transportation choices available, as well as a wonderful tool for fitness and fun. The bicycle affects peoples’ lives in very positive ways.

Bicycle usage in the UK has grown steadily throughout the years, although its popularity has risen sharply in more recent times. This is largely due to the fact that people have become more conscious of eco-friendly transportation methods and the damaging effects of cars and public transport on the environment. Furthermore, lengthy traffic jams, congestion charges, road tolls and inflated public transport costs (which, in theory at least, should have decreased during the recession!) have driven many people to using bicycles.

Equally, riding bicycles to and from work each day is an excellent way for people to get into shape, which is another major problem affecting the world. As with cars and other forms of transportation, the bicycle is not without its problems. Indeed, bicycles require regular maintenance and can tend to break down quite often if they are routinely neglected. Common mechanical and maintenance related problems affecting bicycles include punctured tyres, faulty brakes, loose wheel and frame nuts, slipped chains and misaligned wheels. Any of these problems can make the bicycle virtually impossible to ride properly. Furthermore, faulty or ineffective brakes can be very dangerous and, in the worst case scenario, these can even prove fatal. Indeed, the perils of bicycle riding should never be underestimated and this is why it is always important to have bicycles regularly maintained and serviced.

All we need now is more cycle paths!

Early breakaway of about 8 went away with strong cat 2`s, Will stayed in the bunch which thinned down to about 12, finished about 8th in the bunch, overall about 16th. Will is pleased to be improving and targeting a top ten place in the next couple of circuits which are also with category 2`s.

Spring Chicken RR

Will Rode the Spring Chicken RR on Saturday 10th march, his first road race, with a field of 80. 46 miles of a undulating course, full of potholes. He was about tenth back on the top of the last climb, and then at the top  with about 2 miles to go, Will completely ran out of energy and finished just behind the main bunch. He was glad that he had the fitness to stay in the bunch, Will said he needed to eat more beforehand.
