Tuesday Night Bike Ride

Welcome to this week`s blog where last night The Good Lord was kind with the weather for the first time in a long time. (Start as usual from The White Lion Pub Great Kingshill 7pm.)

This evening`s ride took in the picturesque route of Gt Missenden, South Heath, The Lee, Ballinger, Hyde End, Hyde Heath, Lt Missenden and home.

 

Once again it was good to see Colin and Alan back in the fold and looking forward to more rides as the summer progresses.

 

Unfortunately the ride didn`t start too well as Dave`s chain jammed in Gt Missenden, but once free he fainted as Martin W informed him as to what it would cost to repair!

 

When he came round we continued for approx 15-20 miles whilst revelling in near daylight conditions until at least approx 21.00.

 

A good time was had by all - especially those who stopped at the pub afterwards,

and let`s all hope that the weather next week will be as good.

 

A date for your diary is Saturday 9/5/12 as we intend to get the train from Wycombe to Leamington and cycle the canal towpath into Birmingham (approx 35 miles), before returning home that afternoon. All welcome on the day but this may involve an early start. 

 

Hope to see you all again en mass next week.

Sunday ride out.

This Sunday 11th October. I joined with Michal and David and members from the CTC. On there Sunday ride out.
I was the youngest on this ride haha. Good ride we left Great Kingshill car park just after 9.30 and arrived at the goat centre at 11 for coffee and cake. The morning stated off dry with rain on the way back. But it was still enjoyable ride and great company.

Skyride London 2009

Welcome to The Mayor of London's Skyride, formerly known as the London Freewheel. Now in its third year, this hugely popular event will give thousands of cyclists of all ages and abilities the chance to take over some of London's most famous streets - as we banish the traffic for the day.

The Casual cyclist. Tuesday Night Ride

This ride out, first started in bike week. Tuesday 16th June 2009. There was 11 riders in total. Starting at the White Lion Pub. Cryers Hill, High Wycombe.
And cycling around 20 miles. We all enjoyed the ride, so decided to keep it going and meeting up at 7pm every Tuesday. This month October we have been meeting at 6pm and cycling just over a 1 hour and we are down to 3/4 riders. Lost some riders during the summer holidays and hadn’t realised we are still continuing. We are looking at going out and meeting up Sunday mornings, at 10 am.

The ride is for fun and to encourage people into cycling. If you know a good ride, in the area we would be happy to hear from you as we are always looking for different rides
Also a great way to meet new people with same interests.
